Can I wash it?

Of course! Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be washed just like any normal garment, in the washing machine or by hand. We always recommend that you follow the washing instructions.

The outer face of the fabric has a stain-resistant finish. However, the interior is absorbent, to allow the garment to expel moisture out. Therefore, once the fabric is immersed in water and the interior is soaked, the outer face is also moistened, allowing the garment to be washed normally.

How should I wash it?

Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be washed just like any normal garment, in the washing machine or by hand. We always recommend that you follow the washing instructions:

* Do not use bleach;

* Iron at average temperature / Two dots on the iron (120C);

* Hand or machine wash cold (30-40C);

* Do not dry clean;

* Wash with similar colours.

Once washed, we recommend that you take the garment out of the washing machine, and hang it straight on a hanger to dry. This way, the fabric will regain its original shape, and you avoid annoying wrinkles.

How often should I wash my garment?

Thanks to our technology, you don’t need to wash Sepiia garments as often as normal shirts. It depends on the type of use but, like jeans, these shirts and polo shirts can generally be worn for days without washing. Our testers have confirmed that they can be worn for days without washing.

How do I remove stains like tomato sauce from my garment?

Viscous liquids, such as ketchup or syrup, slide more slowly over the fabric. To remove them, we recommend using water to rinse the products and drive the stain away from the fabric. DO NOT RUB. If you rub the stain, it may penetrate the interior face of the fabric, which has not been treated, and thus stain the garment

Can I iron my garment?

Yes, the shirts and polo shirts can be ironed, but always at medium-low temperature. As they are made of a thermoplastic fabric, high temperatures could damage the shirts.

Is it true that these garments don’t smell bad?

The threads which we use to make our fabrics have very small silver particles inside. These prevent the bacteria that causes bad smells from multiplying. This way, we ensure that our garments don’t retain bad odours.

What is it made of?

Our garments are 100% anti-bacterial performance polyester. The treatment is only applied to the outside of the garment, so the interior is absorbent, and the garment is more breathable, which means you only need to machine wash it after several wears.

Do they contain dangerous chemicals?

One of our primary concerns is caring for the environment and people.
The exact formula we use is one of our key competitive advantages, so we can’t tell you exactly what it is, but we can tell you that it is a completely safe product, and that it does not contain any PFOS or PFOA substances.

How logn does the anti-stain treatment last?

Our anti-stain technology repels liquids such as coffee, juices, sodas. It does not repel stains caused by friction or powder, although we are investigating this to improve our next collection. We’ve tested our technology in AITEX laboratories, and it holds its effectiveness at 90% after 90 washes. This could depend on the type of laundry machine, detergent and cycle used.
To prolong the effective life of your garment, please note that you do not need to wash it after each wear, because it also neutralises body odour. You can also iron or tumble dry your garment after every 5 or 6 washes, as the heat helps to reactivate the stain-resistant treatment.

→ Limitations: We endeavour to make a functional product, but we are not infallible; it works better with cold liquids and sugar-free liquids, and when liquids fall onto the garment from a height of less than 15 cm, as is the norm with everyday accidents. With dense liquids, such as sauces, do not rub the stain, as this will cause it to penetrate the fabric. Instead, pour water over it, so that the stain slides off the surface. Remember that this is a garment which contains a lot of technology, but it is not a toy. If you take good care of it, it will last much longer.

What about the anti-bacterial effect?

We guarantee that our clothes neutralise body odour throughout the day, by neutralising the bacteria that cause body odour. We cannot guarantee that the garment won’t retain smells like food or tobacco, since those odours do not depend on bacteria. Although the average use is between 3 and 5 wears, we cannot tell you definitively how many days you can wear your shirt before washing, because each person has a different sweat rate. We guarantee that the treatment does not get less effective after washing. We have also performed tests at AITEX, which prove a 99.9% resistance to bacteria.

Will I have to iron it?

We have some garments that minimise wrinkles (our plain shirts and polo shirts), and some garments which completely remove them (printed shirts and polo shirts). For better daily performance, we recommend hanging the garment on a hanger after washing, after use or after travelling, and the following day you’ll see how any creases have almost completely disappeared. If any small wrinkle remains, this is usually straightened out by your body heat when wearing. You can iron it at 120ºC once every 10 washes to reactivate the nanoparticles on the surface of the garment.

Will it shrink?

We guarantee that the garment has a 0% shrinkage rate after washing, throughout its life cycle. We have performed the relevant tests in AITEX laboratories.

Will it show sweat marks?

When you sweat, the garment absorbs that moisture through the interior face of the fabric, and expels it onto the surface of the garment, to facilitate its evaporation. This is not noticeable from the outside, thanks to the stain-resistant treatment on the outer face of the fabric. This effect works under normal conditions of daily use. Although you can use it for sports, it is not intended for this, and we cannot guarantee that it will cope with the necessary absorption levels for strenuous exercise.

How long will this garment last?

The useful life of the garment will depend largely on how much you take care of it. We have reduced the necessary care to make the process very simple: wash in a washing machine; hang on a hanger; do not bleach; do not rub stains. Following these instructions should mean that the garment lasts at least 3 times longer than a normal garment.

What are your shipping options?

We have different options in the Iberian Peninsula:

  • Free shipping for orders over 50€ you’ll receive it in 2-4 business days in Spain and Portugal. If your order is under 50€, shipping costs will be 3.70€.
  • Express shipping in 1-2 business days for 4.70€ in Spain and Portugal. If you make your order before 17h you’ll receive it the next business day.

    Shipping to the Canary or Balearic islands has an additional charge of €10. Shipping in Europe charges differently depending on the destination. Sepiia does not take responsibility for any additional duties or delays that may arise at customs.

    Please consider that shipping to the Canary Islands is considered an export for us and your shipping may be subject to additional fees or duties upon arrival. In any case, Sepiia has no control over these charges, nor can predict what they may be. It is the receiver who must comply with them.

For PRE-SALE or personalised items, the delivery time is 21 calendar days (25 in Europe).

Shippings in Europe* are free in orders over 90€. For orders under 90€, the shipping cost is 9€.

How do I exchange a product?

If you wish to exchange your item for a different size or style, you have 15 days from the date of delivery to do so in Spain and Portugal. For international purchases, we process the exchange as a return and a new purchase. Extended holiday returns: All orders made in December can be exchanged or returned by the 15th of January.

To request it, please contact us at customers@sepiia.com indicating your name, surname, address and order number, as well as the new garment or size you want.

Once your request has been received, we will collect the item you wish to exchange at the time of delivery of the new item. The exchange will be made to the same delivery address as the original order. If you wish to receive the exchange at a different address, you must notify us of this via email.

How do I return an item?

If you are not satisfied with your order for any reason, you can return it within 15 days of receiving it at the address provided through the website. To do this, contact SEPIIA via our email address, customers@sepiia.com. In the email, please indicate that you wish to return the purchase, and provide us with your name, surname, DNI or NIE, and order number. Find out more about this process at the following link.

Sepiia 2080 S.L. will bear the shipping costs for the order, plus the cost of the first exchange or return. If the item is exchanged a second time, or a return is requested after the first exchange, these shipping costs shall be borne by the customer.

What should I do if there’s a problem with my order?

We hope you never have a problem, but we know that these things do happen. If you receive a faulty or incorrect item, or if your order does not arrive within the expected timeframe, please contact us via our email address, clientes@sepiia.com, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I modify my order if I made a mistake?

If you would like to make a change or modify your order, please contact us by email (customers@sepiia.com) as soon as possible after completing the payment.

Can I buy your clothes in physical stores?

We don’t have our own shop just yet, but we have partnered with a space in Madrid so you can try, feel, and buy our garments.

Are the shirts very fitted?

Sepiia shirts have three types of fit: slim fit, which is fitted but not excessively tight; medium fit, which sits in between slim fit and regular fit; and regular fit, which is a little wider, especially in the stomach area. The fabric is quite stretchy, which adapts well to different body types.

Printed shirts have their own unique fit, MEDIUM FIT, which sits in between SLIM FIT and REGULAR FIT

Our polo shirts also have their own unique fit.

Why is the company called Sepiia?

The name Sepiia is a reference to the cuttlefish (“sepia” in Spanish), whose skin is the most intelligent in the world. They can deliberately change the colour and texture of their skin in many elaborate ways. As well as honouring this incredible sea creature, we wanted to pay tribute to the old photo printing technique, where sepia tone was used to slow down the deterioration of photographs and resist the passage of time.

The double “ii” comes from “smart attire” (“indumentaria inteligente” in Spanish). We know that nobody uses the term “attire” to refer to what we do, but the word “clothes” seems too simple, and the word “fashion” has connotations of a temporary nature (trends), which we don’t identify with because what we produce are durable garments with a timeless nature.

How do the garments feel?

Our shirts and polo shirts are made of a material which feels very similar to high-quality sportswear. It’s soft to the touch, comfortable, and you’ll notice its technology as soon as you put it on.

Do you make clothes for children?

We know that all parents want functional clothes for their kids, so we’re working on launching our children’s collection soon. We hope to have it ready very soon.

Where are the garments made?

We manufacture our garments locally between Alicante, Valencia, Girona and Albacete. Everything is 100% recyclable. We produce all our garments from start to finish, starting with the fibre, which we use to make our fabrics, and then our shirts.

Are they sustainable?

Our project comes as a response to a market flooded with beautiful, inexpensive but inefficient clothing, that stains and wrinkles easily, accumulates bad odours, and, especially in the summer months, shows sweat marks that can be extremely uncomfortable.

Meanwhile, the textile industry has created materials and processes that can produce garments with special characteristics, like those of our shirts: stain resistant; wrinkle free; anti-odour, thanks to the antibacterial component in the fibre; and no sweat marks.

By giving the fabric these characteristics, we reduce the garment care process (washing, ironing, drying), and therefore, the environmental impact. Our first studies indicate that, by wearing our shirts, we could be reducing the total environmental impact by 50%, compared to other shirts on the market at the same price. We need funding in order to research and gather more information on this.

Moreover, we have reduced the number of elements that make up the garment, and we have kept packaging to the bare minimum. By spending less on this, we can offer a better product at a more competitive price. And finally, we try to make great designs that will last, and we encourage our customers to take care of their clothes.

What guarantees do your garments have?

Our garments are not indestructible, but they do have a series of qualities that have been tested in AITEX laboratories, and we can confirm that they work.

The stain-resistant finish has a few limitations which we indicate to customers, such as the distance from which a liquid is poured or its temperature.

Regarding the wrinkle-free technology, there are some designs which have a 100% reduction in wrinkles, and others with a reduction of more than 85%.

In addition, we are still working hard on this aspect to achieve total excellence. In any case, if a customer is not satisfied with the result, they can return the garment trouble-free, and we will refund their money.

Do you have any type of certification?

Not yet, but we are working with several organisations to certify the traceability of the garment, as well as its sustainability and functionalities. This is a long and expensive process.

In response, we have chosen to communicate directly with our customers about our step by step manufacturing process, through our website and social media channels.

We use Instagram Stories to show the daily process of development work, from the production phase to prototyping and design. Additionally, we invite customers and the media to visit our facilities and the factories where we make our products.
