Care of the garment Properties Shipping, changes or returns Purchases Sizes Other questions Care of the garment

Can it be washed?

Of course. Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be washed like a normal garment in the washing machine or by hand. We always advise that the washing instructions be followed.

The outer face of the fabric has an anti-stain finish. However, the inner face is absorbent, allowing the garment to wick moisture out. For this reason, once the fabric is submerged in water and the inner face is soaked, the outer face is also moistened and allows the garment to be washed normally.

How should I do it?

Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be washed like a normal garment in the washing machine or by hand. We always advise that the washing instructions be followed:

* Do not bleach,

* Iron at medium temperature / Two points of the iron (120ºC),

* Hand or machine wash cold (30-40ºC),

* Do not dry clean,

* Wash with like colors.

We recommend that, once the wash is finished, you take the garment out of the washing machine and hang it on a hanger to let it dry. In this way, the fabric will return to its initial position and you will avoid annoying wrinkles.

How often do you have to wash the clothes?

Thanks to its technology, you will have to wash Sepiia garments less frequently than a normal shirt. Everything will depend on the type of use that is made of the garment, but, like jeans, shirts or polo shirts can be used for days without washing.

How do you remove stains like tomato sauce from clothes?

Viscous liquids, such as ketchup or syrups, slide more slowly over the fabric. To get rid of them, we recommend using water to drag the products away from the fabric. DO NOT RUB. If we rub the stain, it will end up penetrating the inside of the fabric, which has not been treated, and therefore the garment will be stained.

Can the garments be ironed?

Yes, the shirts and polo shirts can be ironed, although always at a medium-low temperature. As they are made of a thermoplastic fabric, a high iron temperature could damage the shirt.

Properties

Is it true that clothes don't smell bad?

The threads with which we make our fabrics carry very small silver particles inside, which prevent the proliferation of bacteria that cause bad odors. In this way, we ensure that the garments do not have bad odors for a longer time.

What is it made of?

Our thread is made with a 100% antibacterial polyester technical fiber with silver nanoparticles that neutralize the bacteria that cause bad odor when we sweat. We apply an anti-stain treatment to the outside of the fabric that makes liquids slide off the outside of the garment, while the inside is absorbent to increase breathability.

Does it contain dangerous chemicals?

One of our main concerns is caring for the environment and people.
The exact formula we use is one of our competitive advantages, so we cannot tell you exactly what it is, but we can tell you that it is a completely safe product and that it does not contain any PFOS or PFOA type substance.

How long does the stain remover last?

Our anti-stain technology repels water-based liquids (coffee, juices, soft drinks) and oily (sauces, ketchup). It does not repel stains such as rubbing or dust, although we are investigating it to improve future collections. We have carried out the corresponding tests in the AITEX laboratories to verify that the anti-stain treatment maintains 90% effectiveness after 90 washes. This may depend on the type of washing machine, the detergent and the washing program that each one uses.
To prolong its effectiveness, remember that you do not have to wash it after each application, since it also neutralizes body odor. You can also iron the garment or use a dryer every 5 or 6 washes since the heat helps to reactivate the anti-stain treatment.

→ Limitations: We seek to make a functional product, but we are not infallible; works better with cold liquids than hot, better when liquids are sugar free, and when spilled within 15cm of the garment, as is common with everyday accidents. With thick liquids such as sauces, do not rub the stain as this penetrates the fabric; instead, pour water over the top so that the stain slides off its surface. Remember that it is a garment with a lot of technology, but it is not a toy. If you take good care of it, it will last much longer.

And the antibacterial technology?

We guarantee that our garments neutralize body odor throughout the day as it neutralizes the bacteria that cause body odor. We cannot guarantee that it will not smell like food or tobacco as these odors do not depend on bacteria. Although the average use is between 3 and 5 times, we cannot tell you the number of days you can wear the shirt before washing it since each person has different levels of sweating. We do guarantee that the treatment does not lose effectiveness with washing; We have also carried out tests in AITEX with a 99.9% resistance to bacteria.

Don't you have to iron it?

We have garments that minimize wrinkles (our solid color shirts and polo shirts) and garments where wrinkles are completely eliminated (our printed shirts and polo shirts). For a better daily performance, we recommend hanging the garment on a hanger after washing, after use or after your trips and the next day you will see how the wrinkles almost completely disappear. If there is a small wrinkle, it is usually corrected with body heat when wearing it. You can iron it at a maximum of 120ºC (2 points on the iron) one out of every 10 washes or use a dryer to reactivate the stain remover with heat.

Will it shrink?

We guarantee that the garment has 0% shrinkage after washing throughout its entire life cycle. We have carried out the corresponding tests in the AITEX laboratories.

Doesn't sweat really mark?

When we sweat, the garment absorbs that moisture on the inside of the fabric and distributes it over the surface of the garment to facilitate its evaporation without it being noticeable from the outside due to the anti-stain treatment on the outside of the fabric. This effect works under normal conditions of daily use; although you can use it for sports, it is not designed for this and we do not guarantee that it will exceed the absorption levels if you do strenuous exercise.

How long does the garment last?

The lifespan of the garment will largely depend on how much you care for it. We've reduced the amount of care needed to make it a simple process: Machine wash, hang on a hanger, do not bleach, do not rub stains. Following these instructions, the garment should last at least 3 times longer than a normal garment.

Sizes

How can I find out my size?

You can check our sizes in our size guide section of the website, https://sepiia.com/guia-tallas/. There you have the measurements and the equivalencies of the sizes of the shirts.

Are they very tight?

Sepiia shirts in solid colors have two types of fit: a "slim fit" pattern, fitted but not excessively tight, and another "regular" pattern, looser, especially in the abdominal area. The fabric is quite elastic, so it adapts well to different body types.

In the case of printed shirts, the fit is unique, and it is an intermediate fit between the SLIM FIT and the REGULAR FIT.

In the case of the polo shirts, the notch is also unique.

Other questions

Why is the company called Sepiia?

The name of Sepiia refers to the sea cuttlefish whose skins are the most intelligent in the world. They can change the color and texture of their skin in elaborate and conscious ways. In addition to relating it to this animal, we wanted to wink at old photographic development, where the sepia color was used so that said photographs would slow down their degradation and resist over time.

The double “ii” comes from smart clothing. We know that no one uses the term clothing to refer to what we do, but the word "clothing" seems too simple to us and the word "fashion" has a series of connotations of a temporary nature (trend) with which we do not feel identified, since that we make durable garments with a timeless character.

How do the clothes feel?

Our shirts and polo shirts are made of a material very similar to that of the best sportswear. Its touch is soft and comfortable, and once put on, you will realize its technology.

And children's clothing?

We know that all parents want functional garments for their children, so we are working to launch the children's collection soon. We hope to have it ready very soon.

Where are the garments made?

We manufacture our garments locally between Alicante, Valencia, Girona and Albacete, 100% recyclable. We produce the garments from the beginning: the fiber with which we build our fabrics and later the shirts.

Are they sustainable?

Our project arises as a response to a market flooded with beautiful and cheap clothing, but inefficient (they stain and wrinkle easily, accumulate bad odors, and especially in the summer months, sweat marks can be especially uncomfortable ).

In parallel, the textile industry has generated materials and processes that can give garments properties such as those of our shirts: they repel stains, reduce wrinkles and bad odors thanks to the antibacterial component of the fiber, and/or avoid stain marks. sweat.

By granting these properties to the fabric, we manage to reduce the garment care processes (washing, ironing, drying), and therefore, their environmental impact. Our first studies indicate that, by using our shirts, we could be reducing 50% of the total environmental impact compared to other shirts of the same price found on the market. We need funding to be able to investigate and gather more information about it.

Likewise, we have reduced the number of elements that make up the garment and its packaging to keep the essentials, which means that by spending less on that and we can offer a better product at a more competitive price. And finally, we try to make good designs that last over time, and encourage users to take care of their clothes.

What guarantees do your garments have?

Our garments are not indestructible, but they do have a series of qualities that we have tested in the AITEX laboratories and we can confirm that they work.

The anti-stain finish has some limitations that we indicate to customers, such as the distance from which the liquid is poured or its temperature.

In the case of anti-wrinkle, we have designs in which there is a 100% wrinkle reduction and others in which its reduction is greater than 85%.

In addition, we continue working to achieve excellence in this regard. In any case, if the client is not satisfied with the result, they can return the garment to us without problems and we will refund their money.

Do you have any kind of certification?

Not yet, but we are working with several organizations to be able to certify the traceability of the garment, its sustainability and its functionalities. They are somewhat long and expensive processes.

In response, we have chosen to communicate directly to our customers through our website and our social networks the step-by-step manufacturing process.

We are uploading through our Instagram Stories the daily development work process, from production to prototyping and the design phases. Likewise, we invite customers and the media to visit our facilities and the factories where we make our products.

And of course, we always answer the questions that clients and interested parties ask us through our contact email.
