Of course. Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be washed like normal garments in the washing machine or by hand. We always advise you to follow the washing instructions. The outside of the fabric has a stain-resistant finish. However, the inner side is absorbent, which allows the garment to wick moisture away. Therefore, once the fabric is immersed in water and the inner side is soaked, the outer side also becomes wet and allows the garment to be washed normally.
Sepiia shirts and polo shirts can be machine washed or hand washed. We always advise you to follow the washing instructions: * Do not bleach, * Iron at medium temperature / two ironing points (120ºC), * Hand or machine wash cold (30-40ºC), * Do not dry clean, Do not dry clean, * Wash with similar colours. We advise you to take the garment out of the washing machine after washing and hang it on a hanger to dry. This way, the fabric will return to its original position and you will avoid annoying creases.
Thanks to its technology, you will need to wash Sepiia garments less often than a normal shirt. It all depends on how the garment is worn, but like jeans, shirts or polo shirts can be worn for days without washing.
Viscous liquids, such as ketchup or syrups, slide more slowly over the fabric. To remove them, we recommend using water to wash the products away from the fabric. DO NOT RUB. If you rub the stain, it will penetrate to the inside of the fabric, which is untreated, and therefore the garment will be stained.
Yes, shirts and polo shirts can be ironed, but always at a medium-low temperature. As they are made of a thermo-plastic fabric, a high ironing temperature could damage the shirt. Properties
Please note that the stain-resistant treatment is only applied to the outside of the garment, so the inside of the garment may be stained by the garment rubbing against the body. These stains disappear by washing the garment as above. If you rub the stain it can penetrate the fabric. If this happens you can use KH7 or a specific anti-grease product for stains, rub the inside of the garment and wash it as usual. If the garment is stained by rubbing or dust, wash it regularly.
The threads with which we make our fabrics have very small silver particles inside, which prevent the proliferation of odour-causing bacteria. In this way, we achieve that the garments do not have bad smells for a longer period of time.
One of our main concerns is to take care of the environment and people. The exact formula we use is one of our competitive advantages, so we cannot tell you exactly what it is, but we can tell you that it is a completely safe product and does not contain any PFOS or PFOA substances.
Our stain-resistant technology repels water-based liquids (coffee, juices, soft drinks) and oil-based liquids (sauces, ketchup). It does not repel stains such as rubbing or dust, although we are investigating this to improve future collections. We have carried out the corresponding tests in the AITEX laboratories to check that the stain repellent treatment retains 90% effectiveness after 90 washes. This may depend on the type of washing machine, detergent and washing programme used. To prolong its effectiveness, remember that you don't have to wash it after every use as it also neutralises body odour. You can also iron the garment or use tumble dryer every 5 or 6 washes as the heat helps to reactivate the anti-stain treatment. → Limitations: We aim to make a functional product, but we are not infallible; it works better with cold liquids than hot, better when liquids are sugar-free, and when they are poured within 15 cm of the garment, as is often the case with everyday accidents. With dense liquids such as sauces, do not rub the stain as it penetrates the fabric; instead, pour water over it so that the stain slides across the surface. Remember that this is a high-tech garment, but it is not a toy. If you take good care of it, it will last much longer.
We guarantee that our garments neutralise body odour throughout the day by neutralising the bacteria that cause body odour. We cannot guarantee that it does not smell of food or tobacco as these odours are not dependent on bacteria. Although the average wear time is between 3 and 5 wearings, we cannot tell you the number of days you can wear the shirt before washing it as everyone has different levels of perspiration. We do guarantee that the treatment does not lose effectiveness with washing; we have also carried out tests at AITEX with a 99.9% resistance to bacteria.
We have garments that minimise wrinkles (our plain coloured shirts and polo shirts) and garments where they are completely eliminated (our printed shirts and polo shirts). For best daily performance, we recommend hanging the garment on a hanger after washing, after use or after your travels and the next day you will see the wrinkles almost completely disappear. If there are any small wrinkles, they are usually corrected by body heat when worn. You can iron it at a maximum of 120°C (2 points on the iron) once every 10 washes or use a tumble dryer to reactivate the stain-resistance with the heat.
We guarantee that the garment has 0% shrinkage after washing throughout its life cycle. We have carried out the corresponding tests in the AITEX laboratories.
When we sweat, the garment absorbs this moisture on the inside of the fabric and distributes it over the surface of the garment to facilitate evaporation without it being perceptible from the outside due to the anti-stain treatment on the outside of the fabric. This effect works under normal conditions of daily use; although you can use it for sports, it is not intended for sports and we do not guarantee that it will exceed the absorption levels if you do strenuous exercise.
The lifespan of the garment will largely depend on how much you care for it. We have reduced the care needed to make it a simple process: machine wash, hang on a hanger, do not bleach, do not rub stains. By following these guidelines the garment should last at least 3 times longer than a normal garment.

Our sizes can be consulted in our size guide section of the website, https://sepiia.com/guia-tallas/. There you will find the measurements and equivalents of the shirt sizes.
Sepiia shirts in plain colours have two types of fit: a "slim fit" pattern, fitted but not excessively tight, and another "regular" pattern, looser, especially in the abdominal area. The fabric is quite elastic, so it adapts well to different body types. In the case of printed shirts, the fit is unique, and is an intermediate fit between SLIM FIT and REGULAR FIT. In the case of polo shirts, the fit is also unique.
The name Sepiia refers to the sea cuttlefish whose skins are the most intelligent in the world. They can change the colour and texture of their skin in an elaborate and conscious way. In addition to relating it to this animal, we wanted to make a nod to the old photographic development, where the sepia colour was used so that the photographs would delay their degradation and resist the passage of time. The double "ii" comes from smart clothing. We know that nobody uses the term "clothing" to refer to what we do, but the word "clothes" seems too simple to us and the word "fashion" has a series of connotations of a temporary nature (trend) with which we do not feel identified, as we make long-lasting garments with a timeless character.
Our shirts and polo shirts are made from a material very similar to the best sportswear. They're soft and comfortable to the touch, and once you've put them on, you'll notice the technology.
We know that all parents want functional clothes for their children, so we are working to launch the children's collection soon. We hope to have it ready very soon.
We manufacture our garments locally in Alicante, Valencia, Girona and Albacete, 100% recyclable. We produce the garments from the beginning: the fibre with which we make our fabrics and then the shirts.
Our project arose as a response to a market flooded with beautiful, cheap but inefficient garments (they stain and crease easily, accumulate bad odours and, especially in the summer months, sweat marks can be particularly uncomfortable). In parallel, the textile industry has generated materials and processes that can give garments properties like those of our shirts: they repel stains, reduce wrinkles and bad odours thanks to the anti-bacterial component of the fibre, and prevent sweat marks. By giving the fabric these properties, we manage to reduce garment care processes (washing, ironing, drying), and therefore their environmental impact. Our first studies indicate that, by using our shirts, we could be reducing the total environmental impact by 50% compared to other shirts of the same price that are on the market. We need funding to be able to research and gather more information on this. We have also reduced the number of elements that make up the garment and its packaging to keep to the essentials, which means that by spending less on that we can offer a better product at a more competitive price. And finally, we try to make good designs so that they last over time, and encourage users to take care of their garments.
Our garments are not indestructible, but they do have a number of qualities that we have tested in the AITEX laboratories and we can confirm that they work. The stain-resistant finish has some limitations that we indicate to customers, such as the distance from which the liquid is poured or the temperature of the liquid. In the case of anti-wrinkle, we have designs where there is 100% wrinkle reduction and others where there is more than 85% wrinkle reduction. Moreover, we continue to work to achieve excellence in this aspect. In any case, if the customer is not satisfied with the result, he can return the garment to us without any problem and we will refund the money.
Not yet, but we are working with several organisations to certify the traceability of the garment, its sustainability and its functionalities. These processes are a bit lengthy and costly. In response, we have chosen to communicate directly to our customers through our website and our social networks the manufacturing process step by step. We upload the daily development work process, from production to prototyping and design phases, on our Instagram Stories. We also invite customers and media to visit our facilities and the factories where we make our products. And of course, we always respond to questions from customers and interested parties via our contact email.
